Albrecht Dürer
I happened across an Albrecht Dürer print while looking for an image of a rhinoceros the other day, which reminded me how much I love his art. I grew up seeing copies of his famous praying hands hanging on people’s walls.
But I particularly love his images of plants and animals.

Durer’s art reminds me that the draughtsman is, foremost, an observer of the world. I love him.
Ranbling throughout Finnish poetry I came across this:
Moonlight.
By the water
Sits a frog, wiping
His glasses on his sleeve.

Sure. Did You Know it?
And: rambling; as usually casual; sorry
I don’t know if I’ve read this particular poem, but many others by Risto Rasa.
Here’s a quick translation of one I like:
There’s a hole in the skin of the apple.
If you press it against your ear
and listen carefully,
you can pick out, from the sounds of the water and wind,
the clatter of dishes
a worm washing up.
I love Albrecht Durer. His work is perfection. I never read any poems by Risto Rasa, but the Apple poem i just read made me laugh. How imaginative. Thank you.
I don’t know about perfection, but the art is extremely excellent. The still lifes are amazingly realistic.
