Summer Cottages in Saimaa, Finland

A few years ago Rick and I took a lake cruise through the  Saimaa basin, a vast area of interlocking lakes and canals in Eastern Finland. Along the shore there were lots of lovely little summer cottages.

  1. I am glad that You visited Lakeland area. The Lake Saimaa is gorgeous with its rocky islands. Did You made Cruise to Rock paintings? It is fantastic experience.

    Have a nice day!

  2. Hi Sartenada! We heard about the rock paintings, but didn’t visit them, unfortunately. We did go to Savonlinna and see an opera, however, which was wonderful.

  3. Your photos managed to capture the core of Finnish summer. How I miss it, so many months till June..

  4. Nobody does summer like the Finns do summer. I miss it, too.
