Winter’s Bone
I’m pleased to see that Winter’s Bone has been nominated for several Academy Awards. This movie made a big impression on Rick and me, but whenever we mention it, nobody’s seen it.
Hopefully people will see it now.
It’s not for the faint of heart. There’s very little on-screen violence, but there’s plenty of it off-screen, and almost every scene is full of dread.
But not every scene. One of the best things about the movie is the way the hero teaches and takes care of her little brother and sister. My favorite line from the movie: “Get over here and watch how I do this.”
