REM: Radio Free Europe

Radio Free Europe, REM‘s first single, has been selected for the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress.

There’s a very nice bit at Studio 360 with interviews about the songs selected this year for the registry, including a link to rare audio recorded (on cassette) at REM’s first performance at Tyrone’s in Athens, GA, in 1980.
