Restoring Sanity and/or Fear

We had a marvelous time at the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear in Washington DC this weekend. It warmed the cockles to see hundreds of thousands of people getting together for the world’s largest theater game. And it had the O’Jays! (see previous posts).

Here are some photos. Click and zoom for nice big pictures.

Can you see the stage? It’s those tiny people between the signs, up a little higher than the other people, nearly high enough to see them, but not quite.

More photos below.

There are lots of videos from the rally at Comedy Central.

  1. Great shirt! I love the I’m calm as hell sign. Did it calm any election anxieties you might have?

  2. These are nice. Looking at all the signs on the internet has really made me feel better about whatever happens today. My favorite was one that I saw that said “Hitler is Hitler.” It then had a picture of Hitler on the left, and a different picture of Hitler on the right. Or the don’t tread on me sign with the text replaced with “oh no, snakes.” Glad you had a good time.

  3. I don’t know if I feel any more confident about the outcome of the elections, but it did have a calming effect to be in a vast crowd of sane people with a sense of humor.

  4. Glad you were able to go and enjoy the day. Let’s hope it helped those who are sanely inclined to keep the panic at bay when they voted today.

  5. I saw some of it on TV. Glad you guys had a good time. All the signs are great.

  6. Good for you guys for going, nice to see the whole country hasn’t gone mad.
