  1. Yep, that’s what I’ve been doing lately, too. Picking blackberries in the back field (nearly 20 pounds so far!), buying Ontario peaches, freezing and canning, making wine, and drying herbs. Your basil fared much better than our skimpy little patch. One’s partner should always offer bouquets like that one!

  2. It seems the secret to growing good basil is letting the bed go completely to weeds. Out of town for three weeks, and it’s the best basil crop we’ve ever had.
