Former Guantanamo Detainee Describes Ordeal
An interview with Lakdhar Boumediene, a Red Cross/Red Crescent worker who was arrested in Bosnia as a suspect in a plot to blow up an embassy, acquitted of any wrongdoing, then held in Guantanamo for 7 years. He was released in May, 2009.
Boumediene was a plaintiff in the suit that reaffirmed the right of habeas corpus to all U.S. prisoners – a right yet to be upheld for those still held without charges. Here he is interviewed shortly after his release.Vodpod videos no longer available.
