Vintage Knits: Short-sleeved Cardigan

A very nice short-sleeved cardigan with turned-up cuffs and a bloused back. It’s from the American Thread Company booklet Smart Fashions. There’s no date on it, but it seems to be from the early 60s.

Here’s the pattern:

  1. Call me crazy, but I adore the Stepford Wife hairdo and the big pearl earring thing she has going on. She went a little crazy on shaping her eyebrows, and her makeup seems a little too obvious… but hey, whatever! Can’t win ’em all.

The cardigan is fun now that you point it out, but I never notice things like that! :-)

  2. I updated. The honour is mine. Regards.

  3. My site is “united architects”.

  4. Hello Uncle Vinny,

Yes – half the reason that I collect these old patterns is because the photos are fascinating. The other half is because the clothes are cool.
