Reviews of The Sands of Sarasvati

I posted earlier this year about a translation I did, in collaboration with Owen Witesman, of the Finnish graphic novel Sarasvatin hiekkaa / The Sands of Sarasvati, adapted by Petri Tolppanen and Jussi Kaakinen from Risto Isomäki’s novel of the same name. Distribution of the comic is extremely limited, but it has nevertheless garnered some favorable reviews online, including a recommendation for a Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story. Now Joe at the Forbidden Planet comics blog has named it one of his top ten graphic novels of 2008. It’s nice to see it getting some recognition.

Available from Tammi publishing or from Bookplus.
