Christmas Treats from 1953

Like many Americans, Rick and I both grew up with the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook in the house. My mother’s was made in the 60s or 70s, but Rick’s mom had an old 1953 edition, which she graciously gave to us.

I think my mother must have had the same book at one time, because looking at the illustrations when we first received it, I had that delightful deja vu feeling that childhood picture books stir up.

Here are some 1950s Christmas treats from this classic cookbook.
