The Stylistics: You Make Me Feel Brand New
I don’t know how it is where you live, but for some reason in Seattle, although we’re inundated by oldies radio in half the shops and grocery stores we walk into, they seem to only play completely forgettable generic pop songs (or they would be forgettable if they weren’t playing on oldies radio all the time).
This is what has given people the idea that American music of the 70s was mediocre. In fact, the 70s was a golden age of soul music, which was on the radio constantly when I was a child. Here’s a great Philadelphia Sound hit from that era.
The Stylistics performing You Make Me Feel Brand New on Soul Train in 1973. Such a sweet love song.
