Getting Rid of the Electoral College

“How NPV works is this: Instead of a state awarding its electors to the top vote-getter in that state’s winner-take-all presidential election, the state would give its electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote.”

  1. I remember reading about the National Popular Vote proposal following the 2000 presidential election. It seems like the ideal solution. States can’t afford to unilaterally give up their electoral votes, but banding together to agree to give them up once enough states have done so to represent a majority of voters solves that problem. Brilliant.

The United States has such a messed up election system. It’s embarrassing.

  2. Thanks for thee linkage :) I’ll keep an eye out for more of your posts. If you get on blog365.ning.com you can really increase your traffic
