Clinton Bows Out With Aplomb
In a moment of terrific political theater, Hillary Clinton has just called for a suspension of the roll-call vote on the convention floor, and the nomination of Barack Obama by acclamation. A voice vote (taken quickly to avoid the embarrassment of hearing too many nays) confirmed her motion, and the band broke into a rousing rendition of Love Train.
Clinton’s behaved with admirable grace and eloquence through this whole thing. Brava.
