Paul Simon: American Tune

This song seems to me to express something essential about American culture, a sheer weariness, that has never been expressed elsewhere in popular music that I can think of. It’s a song that I’ve loved for years, but I find it’s taken on a whole new significance since the recent disgrace that America has fallen into.
