The International Children’s Digital Library

Baby’s Own AesopBrowsing the Librivox catalogue, I came upon a recording of Walter Crane’s Baby’s Own Aesop, an ambitious rendering of a large selection of Aesop’s fables in limerick form, read by Denny Sayers. Turns out that the entire book, with gorgeous illustrations, is available in facsimile on the website of the International Children’s Digital Library, a page put together to expose immigrant children around the world to the literature of their parent’s culture. Here are some images from the book.
